Guys Hospital, Southwark: Guys is part of the Guys and St Thomas’ network, famous South London Hospitals that have treated the needy and sick for centuries. Four generations of my family were born in Guys. It’s location is officially the start of the Walworth road, just off Borough. St Thomas’ was also the hospital Charles Chaplin senior found himself in, dying at the age of just 37 due to alcohol poisoning and dropsy.
